SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Infinite gratitude to our friends at Tree Ring Productions who came out to help us plant on a sandy hillside at A.P. Giannini Middle School in San Francisco’s Sunset District. Tree Ring creates videos for social enterprises, individual changemakers, grassroots organizations, and non-profits in the Bay Area. We are blessed to have their help!

The Sunset, as locals call it, presents some unique challenges in orchard planning. Frequently blanketed by San Francisco’s famous fog, the district stays very moist and receives sunlight that is more diffused than direct. When you factor in soil type, sun light and moisture, this planting called for plum, apple, and lemon trees that can in the words of Micheal Flynn, “hang with mild climates that get less sun.”
